Default Talk about your 2-step and/or line lock setups

As I am beginning the serious build this winter (9" w/ 4.56s on its way), I want to see how you guys set up your switches, etc for Line Lock and 2-steps. I think I'm going to go with the SJM Line Lock.

Any tips appreciated, strictly for a drag race setup. Specifics if possible!

I want the interior to look as stock as possible. I'm keeping the dash completely intact (hid my shift light in a vent). Is it possible to put everything I need in the ashtray or should I get a plate made for the tape/cd holder for better access?

I have the sjm line lock and a lpe two step. I have the line lock on a on/off switch, most have an on/off and they push a button to active the line lock. The two step is wired into the clutch and that is on an on/off switch it will only work if the clutch is all the way down on the floor board. I think I have some pic on where mine are I need to fine them.

I have a switch panel that is under the radio where the cigarette lighter is.Talk about your 2-step and/or line lock setups-013.jpg

I have the SJM linelock. The switch, light, and button are in the ashtray. I have the MSD 2 step also. It's wired to the clutch switch.

I'm curious how you guys wired your switches up in the ashtray...what plate did you use? Did you make your own? Pics??

SJM Linelock - toggle on/off w/momentary switch in the ashtray. Turn the switch on - hit the button line lock engages.

Lingenfelter 2-step - wired to the clutch switch and a momentary inline. Clutch has to be engaged and the button pressed for the 2 step to activate. I added the momentary switch to get rid of the backfires during shifting.

The switch and buttons are all mounted in the factory ashtray.

I don't have a plate. The light and switches for the line lock are on the bottom of the ash tray. I don't have a picture. If you'ld like, I can go snap one. I also put the wires from the clutch switch on a momentary switch under the dash. That way my kids can't start it.

Good ideas with the momentary switch, I hadn't thought of that.

I have the SLP linelock and the switch is in my ashtray. Interior looks stock except for my shift light because I was too lazy to put it behind the vent for now. I'll move it off the steering column at some point.
