Help diagnose
I was toying around yesterday in my car. Missed 3rd gear, went to put it back in 3rd, then let out the clutch and stomped the gas. As soon as I let out the clutch it made a bunch of racket. I dont have a great discription of what it sounded like b/c I had the radio on and it happened so fast. Now the clutch wont grab in any gear, even reverse. I havent gotten under the car yet to see if I can see anything. The clutch is a Monster 3.5 and is less than a year old. Still under warrenty. I purchased the car about 7 weeks ago. I was suggested its probably the input shaft. There was a faint smell coming from it, but not like a burnt clutch smell. With the limited description, anyone have an idea of what I messed up?

What is all involved in removing the transmission? Im guessing removing the shifter, drive shaft, and torque arm. This will not effect the hydrolics, right? I want to leave the clutch in because I dont think thats the problem. I want to remove the tranny to see if the input shaft is spinning. If it is, then its internal, right?

Yeah just jack it up, pull the drive shaft, torque arm, shifter, unplug sensors and master cylinder line, and unbolt it from the bellhousing not the motor. Took me about 30 mins to pull it by my self. I bet the clutch pretty much exploded. Does it go into any gear with the car shut off? If so does it go in with ease? I don't think the main shaft would have broke or the throw out bearing. Best thing to do now is just pull it apart. If the clutch is still intact it's internal.

If I remove the master cylinder line, will I have to bleed it when I put it back together? I have no idea how manual tansmissions work or hook up. I was told its really easy to take out.

well it appears to be the rearend. I got it to go in reverse, but it was popping like crazy. also when in gear, the speedometer would work while sitting still. also the low trac light came on on the dash and the traction button light would flicker when rolling.
