Default Reverse Lockout

I've got a T56 that I'm not sure if the reverse lockout solenoid is ever disabiling. It's a fight to get into Reverse, whether the car is rolling, standing still or even running. How do I check and see if my solenoid is bad?? My tranny came out of a 2001 Trans Am with 55,000 miles. I already know the tranny had a rought life, because I had to send it back to be rebuilt after delivery.

Thanks

You have it wired up correctly? Check the Fuses?

Sorry I got busy working on my O2 sensor and TPS issues.
I guess that's the question I'm asking. How do I check to see if it's wired correctly or does it even matter? If I remember right I think the plug only has 2 wires. Should I reverse the wires and see if that corrects the problem? I don't have any fuses for the Reverse Lockout, should I?

Yes there is a fuse for that, and no the way the wiring is doesn't matter.

So I guess I should make a fuse setup??? My swap is in a 97 Nissan 240sx and I had to build a wiring harness and fuse box for that setup.

Are you sure its the solenoid thats causing the issue?? The reverse lockout requires 45lbs of pressure to override, does that sound about right?? Thats quite a lot of force.

That is some handy info..

Reverse Lockout needs to be wired up like this..(assuming you have a LS1 swapped into that car..)

One side to the PCM, RED #44
Other side to 12v Ignition power, fused.

If the PCM is tuned for a manual with the Rev. Lockout wired correctly it should function if it's enabled.

Try wiring it like that or checking to ensure it's wired like that, then post back..we will go from there if you still need help.

Ok, I know its been a while since I posted this question, but now I'm finally getting around to fixing my wiring. My question is, what size fuse should I run for the 12v Ignition power on this?
