If your still spinning on slicks you've got some suspension issues. What psi are you running them at? Was the track prep just ****? I used to launch off the limiter on 17" ET Streets and still hook most of the time.

I ran at 22 psi the first time then bumped it down to 18 the 2nd. I didn't burn out that much the first time but the 2nd I did a long one and only cut a 2.0 short time. Since I got a hole in one of my mickeys that means I have to run tubes to fix it? Is that going to alter ne thing with my launch?

Yeah you will have to run tubes. It wont effect your launch or anything. Lower those tires on down some more. You should be hooking better than that with those tires.

you should be around 12-15 psi with slicks and screw your rims to your tires .... if you get tubes you will not loose pressure and the'll be solid on the top end ...also i may have missed it what suspension mods you have ? thats a big deal to

10 psi, no tubes, no screws, dump the clutch right off the limiter, and hang on.

I don't run tubes either. It floats a little on the top end if I run the pressure too low, above 15 psi it's not bad at all.

was it a green track with not much rubber down? were others having traction issues. how big a burn out did you do. bring lots of smoke? what air pressure were you at. the ONLY reason to be running crazy high air pressure like posted above would be if your trying to get alittle wheel spin to keep it from bogging. you want the tire to turn over one revolution befor they dead hook, but just barely. sounds like you were blowing them off

opps, there was a hole page posted after the last message i read. lol but yeah, too much air. start with around 14 and adj from there and do a killer burn out the first pass to get the tire softned good, then adj your burnout to the track conditions from there. i spin it in the water, pull up just out of the water, put it in second and do a big second gear burnout to get more wheel speed and heat in the tire, once it brings good smoke i let off the brake and burn up to the line. when it screetches and grabs, its ready to rock. lol
