Default t56 magnum(tr-6060) has anyone got these to fit an ls1 f-body yet

Wanted to know if anybody has put one in there ls1 f-body and got it to work good, is there any changes needed to be made like different clutch or slave or bellhousing? Also can these be faceplated like a t-56? Would there be a need for a different length driveshaft that the stock t-56 has?

Why not just have your unit face plated and have a Viper mainshaft installed? The T56 Magnum is not exactly a direct fit into your application.

There is a place out of Indiana that has a retro fit kit for the TR6060 in to a C5 and is currently working on one for the Fbody. I am not sure how far along they are though.

The Magnum and the factory TR6060 are different externally. Which are you specifically asking about?

There's an old/long/on-going thread on the Magnum here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...56-magnum.html

Interesting swap article, seems to imply not much needs to be changed from the Magnum except shifter and driveshaft...

I have been thinking about it, the main reason for the switch would be because of the bigger and stronger gears themselves, i have seen some pics of what high powered combos have done to the gears in the t-56 and just want to spend the money on the something better

Thanks man, i read about the got my new trans on here but it did not say if it was finished or was working.
The 68 camaro article is a good one i did not know that the bellhousing had to be modified that's the exact one i have in my car right now. Also was not sure if the slave was the same and the clutch would work.
I was not sure how much of a difference externally the tr6060 was from the t56 magnum so i just put both up there but now i know its gonna have to be the magnum.

We have a direct fit Magnum with a modified F-body/GTO tail housing. It retains the torque arm mount and original shifter and shifter location.

We offer a direct swap t56 magnum as well. Heres a thread we created a few months ago on the subject: https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...-body-gto.html

Your bellhousing, clutch, slave, driveshaft, shifter, crossmember, trans mount, and torque arm would all work with our converted unit. It also comes with new sensors and switches to plug up to your f-body or GTO. As sold from tremec, the t56 magnum doesn't have the correct backup light switch or speed sensor for your gm f-body or GTO. It also does not have the correct tooth count on the speedo reluctor from tremec but we change that to a custom 17 tooth reluctor so that no programming is necessary. It is truely a bolt in replacement.

Nope, the Level 4 T56 will bolt directly into your car with no modifications.

They don't come with shifters, you can just reuse your original shifter. We sell MGW shifters with out transmissions. They are VERY nice, one of the top of the line shifters available today. You can add one to your transmission for $209.00. You can also add the shifter bushing and fork pads to your Level 4 trans for $150.00 and I will throw in the shifter bushing for free. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks again!
