How To Install Master Cylinder Video
#68
I have a 96 Firebird Formula and I cant seem to get the master cylinder piston rod through the firewall. Did you bring the assembly up through the bottom, or down through the top when you re-installed it?

Sure am glad when I did a search that it came up with your threads! Just got finished getting the Hawk home from Lowe's when the clutch pedal was going fast. Had to pump alot. Noticed fluid was dark, but might have been a little low. Just picked up from carquest their version of the mighty sucker. I already watched your video a couple times about the drill mod and clutch cyclinder removal. I'm hoping this weekend to get the fluid changed out and hopefully a ton of air! I doubt I get that lucky, but thanks for your vids on the matter TheBlueKnight .

I didn't get the speed bleeder so I don't know. I just kinda eye balled where the bleeder was and drilled a hole to put my extension and socket through to connect right to the bleed nut on the slave. I don't have a pic of the hole. There are pics floating around on the internet somewhere. A lot of other people have done it.

I used the vid tonight to remove my stock mc and will put the Tick in tomorrow. I'm fairly new at working on this stuff, so I really appreciate your time/effort in the videos.
My one contribution is regarding the star washers holding on the u-bolt from inside the car. I was expecting to see them right behind the nuts, but they weren't there...which was odd since I'm the first to work on the car. I jacked with the assembly from the top, under the car, and inside trying to get it loose. When I realized the side of the U-bolt closest to the passenger side just wasn't moving, I got back inside and pryed back the bracket and found one star washer behind it. Maybe everyone knows that already, but I couldn't see it. Here's a pic. Once I cut off the washer, the rest of the removal was a breeze. I also pushed it down and out through the bottom.
