Default Probably going to need a rebuild.

Bought transmission used...so there was always that chance of it being a dud.

Finished up swap into my 87 and decided to bench test on jackstands.

Runs smooth in 1st, Heard a kind of quiet thunking in third and 5th sounded like like something wanted to leap out of the case and was shaking car even.

Didn't try 2/4/6. It turned fine and without noise by hand before install.

So what am I looking at and where can I get it rebuilt at a reasonable cost at.

A jackstand test is not sufficient to check for transmission health as the drivetrain slack will be multiplied and the higher gear ratios will compound this as you're seeing..

Fill out your profile please.

Are you on TGO?
