Hi

my 1-2 synchron is bad got T56 MN6 in a 2003 C5 Vette 40K on it.

so i bought a new 1-2 synchronizer set from thegearbox.org
and i´m gona change my clutch and this synchrons while i´m at it, but how much do i need to take appart in the gear box to swappe out the 1-2 synchrons???

i´ve been searching allover for a good photos,, and instructions to change out only 1-2 synchrons, but all i can find is full rebuilt, where allt the box is thorn appart...

so i´m hoping i don´t need to rib it all appart to change these 1-2 synchrons out, can somebody help me here understand how these boxes are ???
where is the 1-2??

Sorry, but you have to take it completely apart to replace the 1-2 synchro.

Yeah the 5-6 and reverse are the only ones you can change without completely tearing it apart. You might as well upgrade the rest of the parts while its all torn down.

found the t56 manual, this will be fun.....

but i´m only gona upgrade the 1-2 synchrones for now..

hard to get parts here where i am.

Look HERE and follow along the build. You can see how the trans is assembled so that should give to some idea.
