Default LT1 T56 vs. LS1 T56 Which is better?

Looking to swap a th350 for a t56 and was wondering if one was better than the other? Any pros/cons? It's going behind a sbc 400. Any advice?

I would rather run a Valeo pull clutch than a hyd. throwout bearing so I would tend to look for an LT1 T56 and the aftermarket flywheel to run the LT1 clutch.

If you're comparing a 94-97 trans. to a 98-02 trans., there's nearly no difference to mention, outside of the input shaft & front plate.

The 2nd gear is a better design in the later LS1 T56 units. Other than that, basically they are about the same. Like JMD said, the clutch design is quite a bit different between the two.
