Default Transfer case shifts into nuetral all by itself

I just put a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and slave cylinder in a 1988 F150. Now when I take off in first gear, the transfer case "shifts" in to nuetral. This wasn't happening BEFORE I replaced the clutch, so what did I screw up?

Nevermind, solved my own problem. The linkage wasn't installed properly and was pulling on the lever when the engine torqued. Stupid ....
