LT1 to LS1?
What else do I have to change in order to convert a t56 out of an lt1 f-body to my '01 ls1 f-body, I know that the input shaft, front plate and bellhousing are different, are there anything else that I'm missing? and are any differences in the gear ratios? -thx!

I'm interested to know this as well. I'm planning an LS swap and would like to know if I can use my T56 rather than buy another stock one and take a risk if its good or not.
I have heard input, bellhousing, and front plate as well but nothing for certain

There are a few differences in the lt1 trans'. The older ones have different gear ratios so you won't be able to get the correct imput shaft to fit a ls1 set up unless it's custom.

93 LT1 T56 has different ratios and is the "bastard" year. 94 and up T56 are the same as LS1 T56's with 2.66 first gear. If you want to change the LT1 T56 to LS1 T56 specs, you need to change the following:
Midplate (also known as the front cover)
Input shaft (also known as 4th gear)
Bellhousing
People have replace just the input shaft and the midplate but not recommended. I would disassemble the entire trans and set the shims correctly.

What? Maybe the '93 only trans but the rest are fine. I swapped from LT1 style clutch/input/frontplate when I get rid of the SBC and went with an LSx in my bird.
