T56 work in SE Michigan
Any recommendations for a solid T56 trans shop in the warren/southfield area of Michigan ?
Have an everyday driver '00 Camaro SS M6, and for a while 4th gear had been tempermental, sometimes light grinding on hard shifts -- a "zzzzzip" noise.
One day on 696 it got 'locked' in 4th, took a little hand jiggling + revving to pop it into the neutral gate. Shortly after, 3rd gear became very difficult to shift into, which had previously never been a problem.
Shifts ok in 1,2,5,6,R .. but 3 & 4 are not realistically useable. They can be co-erced into gear at very low vehicle speeds, but nothing else.
Seems the synchros, & probably blocker rings on the 3/4 fork, are retired.
appreciate any info, -Dave

Gearbox & Garden City isn't too far, looks reputable.
Anyone ever hear of Detroit GearBox ?
They're very close by, curious if they do good work.

I have heard good things about D&D. I had my t56 rebuilt by Libertys Gears. They did GREAT work, answered all my questions, and even had me stand right there while they did the tear down so we could see what was broke, what was worn, and what upgrades/ replacements should be done.
