i have a pro 5.0 but again my complaint is that its notchy feeling.
im buying a mgw tomorrow hopefully and i think ill try that foam mod too.
anybody have pics of the boot misfitting the Mgw shifter?
OP-also, you could heat up your shifter stick and bend it to your liking. my friend did that with his mustang. just get it hot enough to bend so that it keeps its stregth after it cools again

I had to trim out the other half of the hole. It looks like a flat sold piece of rubber that I removed. The handle fits flush now. I also raised the stick 1/4 inch. You can see where the etched ring is. When that line is flush with the orange base the sick will be flush on the bottom. There was a 50% decrease in the notchy-ness after I raised it.

Launching!
I installed an MGW last year. Its a nice shifter...got it with the gripper **** (12mm thread) it feels good to the touch when shifting. For those who track their cars, i think it would be better to go with a **** that has more of a "cylinder" shape since there will be more surface area to hold onto (its minute but at the track, it matters to me)
It was stiff when i first starting using it but right now its firm and the shifts feel solid.
one thing i didn't like was the length of the stick..too short. so when i had the transmission out this winter, i got a 3/8 solid mild steel bar, cut it at the length i wanted (i added about an inch) and grinded the top to the point where i could thread a 12x1.75 pattern to accomodate the shift ****. I also grinded some of the bottom to fit into the shifter insert. This was simply done to give more leverage and keep my hands as close to the wheel as possible when driving on the track...

Looking at the pics i would have thought the rubber boot would need to be cut to fit around the outer shifter housing like the pro 5.0 requires, as it looks like it would be an obstruction in the way of smooth shifter movment. Is that not the case with the MGW?
