Default Ubw t56

Hi,

I bought a T56 with the code UBW on the white sticker above the bar code. Can anyone tell me if it will fit my 2000 Corvette coupe. I was told that some were different.

Thanks

Codes will tell you very little. Since the transaxle corvette T56 is so much different than any other T56, it will be readily apparent if it will fit or not. The only variant transaxle T56 was in the C6 attachment to the rear diff and the C6-Z06 larger output shaft. If you post a few pics, someone can tell you fo' sho'

The letter codes like UBW aren't easily referenced.

The number on the bar code decal which starts with 1386... is more easily referenced to a particular OEM build of a T56.

Here is some addtional info. I hope it can help us find out if it is an M12.

The white sticker with the bar cold has the letters UBW on it. Other markings are 13-86-065-902. T56-2280. The metal tag has the code: 12589543E1843 on the first line and TUET 2280 AA 00360 on the second line.
It has a sensor on the fill plug.

Mfg'd in May 2004, so shouldn't be for a C6. A picture would make sure it's a corvette unit. Best way to figure if it's a MM6 or M12 would be to shift it into first gear, and turn the input shaft through 10 revolutions while counting the output shaft revolutions..
