Anyone barking 4th gear??

i have 4.10s' with a single disk mcleod clutch. i will wast 1st and 2nd, most of 3rd and chirp hard in 4th. with street tires. not so lucky with et streets in 4th. but will get loose in 3rd.

i need to get some 11s also
all i have right now is lid, catback and nittos
12.40@112+ 1.96 60ft (clutch is toast spunon that run)
12.51@115.5 1.94 60ft(launched a lil to hard tires roastin)
i figure if i had headers, pully and a clutch i could do it
i have gotten low 1.8s on nittos
oh and race weight is 3590

you ran 12.40 with just a lid and exhaust with nittos?

I chirp fourth all the time at the track
I dont' have 4:10s
see sig.
and powershifting the hell out of it

I do it without powershifting just as easy as with.

pretty much stock motor, stock gears, but under a spec stage three clutch...
power shifting I bark 4th every time..sorry

when I had the nitto 555zr's I was full exhaust high flo lid tires were 275 stock 3.42 gear. speed shifting at 6000 rpm

My tires don't really make much noise, but I can spin them about half way through 3rd gear. Still jumps hard going into 4th so I guess the spin a little.

spin for a while in 4th. 4.56 gears and flooring it in 4th at about 70 with 315's. they spin a WAYS!

I did it in an '87 2.5 4cyl S-10 beater. 280,000 miles, 3.42 gears, 205/75R14 winter treads. Just hold it on the floor until the engine levels out then side step the clutch! I haven't done it in my LS1 because the clutch won't hold it.

I don't think the tires chirp in 4th, but the car will get sideways in 4th if I give it enough. Sideways at ~140 is scary! Only done it once, don't think I'll try to get it sideways again going that fast

Wow I need some of those SUPER highway gears, if you shift into 4th at 140mph I guess you don't shift into 6th until like 250mph

Maybe he lives in Canada or something and means KPH. That would be about right in MPH. He didn't acually say MPH... just ~140.

man i got to have the weakest 02 z. i could never get it to bark 3rd until i did the predator base tune. now at least theyll bark 3rd. all i got is the loudmouth. oh well. just my luck
