T56 6 speed swap guys
Hey I finally started on my swap. I got everything underneath wrapped up. Will be starting on the inside soon but can't find what size hole I will need to drill for the master cylinder. Anyone know for sure off hand?
Thanks

I went with a 1 3/4" hole saw. You might want to look into making a reinforcement panel to go around the hole about 2". I have seen a few guys having problems with the firewall cracking after swapping. As for the lights and functions you will need to repin the harness for reverse lockout. Cruise should still work but it will not shut off when you push in on the clutch. You will have to tap the brake first.

There is a big connector on the side of the A4 shifter. The light green and brown wires are for reverse. Run those to the connecotr on the passenger side of the trans.
you can rig them so they dont pop out, or you can get the reverse light pigtail, VSS connector, and reverse lockout connector on ebay for about $30. the very last post in the trans swap sticky has exactly what to search for on ebay, and a wealth more info.
for the reverse lockout there are a couple of ways to do it. You can go through the PCM so it activates under 3mph, youll have to read the sticky for that. OR you can wire it so the brake pedal activates the solenoid. There is a green wire and a pink wire on that pigtail. Ground the green wire (i chose the area right behind the airbag module) and run the pink wire to the blue(ish) wire on the switch on the brake pedal.
works perfectly
