Hey guys,
About to mate an LY6 up to my T56. T56 is out of a 2005 GTO and has 30k miles on it. Everything is out of the car as this is going into my 69 GTO.

Question regarding the clutch setup
I think I'm going to get the LS7 clutch kit from one of the vendors here. What else do I need to mate these two together?
Right now I've got:
Flywheel
Pressure Plate
Clutch
Are flywheel bolts one time use (torque to yield)? Or can I use the ones I have?
Pilot Bearing
Throwout Bearing
Alignment Tool

Do I need a new slave? I've read that everyone says to replace it, but it's only got 30k on it, and if I get a new T/O bearing, will that be ok?
How much of a difference is the Tick setup vs. the drill mod?
What else might I need?

Thanks
Jim

do you want to temporarily save the cost of a new slave or do you want to avoid pulling the trans in the near future? Pick one. The bolts are fine to re-use.

Nice swap! Are you keeping the VVT?

Pick up a new slave. Not worth the hassle later down the road. I would get either a GM or one like a Ram. Stay away from the parts store brands. Havent heard anything good on them to this day.

So is the Monster kit from either Tick or Byunspeed worth it? They have kits where you get the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, slave, pilot and throwout bearings and clutch alignment tools for ~$1000.
A LS7 clutch kit is ~500. Pilot, throwout, and alignment tools would be ~100. What is the difference between the slaves on an LS1 vs C5 vs 04-06 GTO? There is a big price difference there. My T56 is out of a 2005 goat but will be mating up to an LY6. Which slave should I get? That's why I asked the question about the slave: it's ~$250 bucks and if the one on there is good, I'd get the LS7 kit and piece together the rest.

Is there anyone that sells and LS7 kit that includes the slave and bearings? If not, where are the best places to get them?

thanks
Jim
