Twisted splines on my slip yoke !
Well after my Ring Gear let go & I wound up goin thru the rear end .....after 23,000 HARD miles with about 70 Track Passes leavin at 7 Grand.
Trans was Freshened 3 mo ago & next trip to track is when the rear end let go,well I noticed the Driveshaft was HARD to get back in & my Depth of Yoke Slip was only 1/8 inch instead of the 1" needed .
After a check with another Yoke & Travel was a full Inch .....Upon Closer check of my Yoke that was purchased New with the Denny's Nitrous Shaft 7 years ago & 23,000 miles ago I Find the Splines are Twisted Enuf to Limit Travel to only 1/8 inch .
The Moser Axles were also replaced due to Twisted Splines ....Man Sticks sure are HARD on Parts .

You can remove the tail housing of the transmission while remaining in the car but it's easier to do repairs on it outside of the vehicle if needed. I personally would start the vehicle with the drive shaft out and watch the output shaft spin. As long as it appears to run straight, chances are there is nothing damaged.
