Default Mcleod Clutch

What's the deal with Mcleod's clutch setup? I'm looking to go with their twin disk, adjustable master, aluminum flywheel? Anyone had any experience with these clutches/recommend other brands? What did you go with, steel or aluminum flywheel?

Thanks for the help guys, feel free to post any past experiences with other clutch setups. Cartek, Ram, Centerforce, Spec.... gimme what ya got!

I have been running the single disc Mcleod for 2 years now. No problems. 5800 rmp launches on nitrous and engine only. Switching over to the twins this spring. Already have the adjustable master. The aluminum flywheel is much lighter, but I have been told that for my new set up the steel will be the way to go.

So. If you are not going with any more mods than are in your signature and don't race all that much, IMO the single disk, adjustable master and steel flywheel would be the way to go. Proven to be a great set-up

go w/ the steel flywheel if its a street vehicle, it can handle the heat alot better, I've heard of guys running in the 9's useing the twin disc and not having any problems ever!, I have the twin setup sitting on my work bench ready to put in!, I can shoot you some pics if you like, it really is an awsome set up, I cant even compare it to DF centerforce, I've had that clutch and it wuz the biggest crock of **** in the world, I will never buy another centerforce product again, the stocker wuz about 10 times better, I've heard of people having problems w/ the spec clutches also, but I havent owned one

Please do post up pics, or send them to me. Whatever works... My setup will be Cartek S2 LS6 heads, either with their cam, or I'd like to try a G5X2. I haven't talked with Julio or those guys about it yet so we'll have to see. I'll probably be running either 3.73s or 4.10s in a 12 bolt. It's a summer cruiser/show car, so it should be pretty sweet when its all done. Thanks for the help.

Hmm...problems with the Mcleod master it seems? Have either of you guys had problems with this? I was thinking it was the ideal setup until I started reading about Mcleod's master failures. Are you guys both using the Mcleod's setup, or punched out stock cylinders?

I have had good luck with the twin disc, steel flywheel setup, the only problem I had with the master was the adapter for the clutch line was loose and leaked fluid, make sure is tight before installing. I also would recommend
steel flywheel. setup is pretty straight forward, it's all setup, just take it apart and install in reverse order, pay attention to shims

What are the specs on that Chris? I've heard abotu it, but haven't looked into it very much. What's in run for price wise, does it use the same adjustable master? Thanks for the info,

I run the single and had good luck with it.My friends Mcleod blew up in less than 1000 miles,so I'm going with a SPEC stage 3 for my next clutch.Mcleod customer service sucked.
