Default t 56 wont shift

I was driving home a few weeks ago and come to a stop at a light. I went to put it in 1st wont go 2nd 3 4th and so on wont go. Now if I leave the car sit it shifts fine till the trans heats up I think. What's wrong presume plate or hrydrolic cylinder or the slave cylinder.

Are you leaking any fluid from the bell housing? Is the master low?

That isnt gonna effect not shifting. If you take off your shifter and top off you fluid stick like 2 quarts in there and then open the fill plug to drain off the excess. I will be willing to bet your slave has gone bad. Open your master and see if the fluid is low. If its low it prob leaked out.

how did you check the slave fluid? There is a reservoir for the master the master is what operates the slave. if the master was low you prob have a leak somewhere. Is the pedal spongy at all?
