SPEC 2 fails to operate

Slow, you seem to describe a different issue. You evidence slippage while southern says that his clutch would not release...these are not the same issue. Where does, the engagement of your clutch occur relative to pedal travel? Is it high or low? Let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.
It is worth noting that other factors can affect clutch release and this is why I want to examine the parts to determine what the cause is (be it something in the clutch assembly or another factor). I have attempted to assist southern all along on this...and will continue to do so. Additionally, Southern, I have not recevied your parts...do you have a tracking number for them. It is possible that all this crazy weather has delayed the shipment. Let me know. Thanks,

i never feel the soft push before the clutch is supposed to engage. there is the same pressure from the time i start pushing the pedal untill it hits the floor. it has no shims in it either, maybe i need to triple check the depth. how can i tell the difference in the f-body and corvette flywheels? i am wondering if i might have the wrong flywheel at this point since i seem to have too much pressure on the clutch assembly???

For the LS1 the flywheel for the Vette and Camaro are the same. If you didn't use a shim and the pedal is low then you have likely found your issue. Additionally, there some measurements that will help to insure you have the appropriate spacing. I have a newly finished video we did that shows how to check the measurements but there is also a thread on this board that I will link below that may be of assistance too...

Take a look and let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

The biggest problem with most clutch failures is installation. It seems cut n dry but alot get screwed up.The 2nd is break in.
A long with tightening the PP bolts slowly/evenly is checking the throwout bearing clearance/freeplay. Most people just throw a shim in there because it came with it.
We've had every clutch out there fail at one point or another. Most from abuse or bad driving, rarely a defect. I will say SPEC is one of the better company's to warrenty a clutch.

Many people that have problems I am sure throw them in the trash because they dont want to have to pay shipping to have spec say, its broken. I am going to pay my shipping and see what happens. I am irritated about the situation!

Why would anyone trash the parts if they have an issue versus working with the manufacture to determine the cause. That doesn't make sense. At any rate, I have done my best to assist you Southern, and will continue to...but without the parts here for assessment there isn't much I can do!

The way the OP has trashed spec in this thread, I applaud the eagerness of Spec to try and resolve the problem. Some guys would have told you where you can stick that clutch.
I hear the OP complaining about who should pay for the return shipping. The customer paying for return shipping in the event of an issue is pretty much the norm IMO. I doubt it would casue $20.00 to ship the clutch from NC to AL.
OP, pony up the return shipping cost, allow SPEC to do what they said they would do and proceed with resolving this in a more mature way.
