I have a buddy of mine that bought a car that evidently had a 1993 T56 swapped into his car in place of the auto. The car is a 1993 and he thought the swap would have been trouble free but he found out the speedo didn't work. He bought a 40 pulse sensor (misinformed) and that obviously didn't work. He was told that it required a 4 pulse but the one that was in it didn't work either. I told him to reflash the PCM to manual and a dealership told him he couldn't do it and instead would have to rewire the WHOLE car and buy a new gauge cluster and computer. Someone else told him to buy an older ZF 6 Spd. like in the old TPI Vettes. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what he should do?

If it's a verified 1993 box, then he needs to add the proper wiring & VSS setup as-installed in an M6 1993 f-body. Then he needs to replace the PROM chip in the ECM (flash PCM computers came in 94-up f-bodies)
If you want it to operate correctly as a 1993 M6 f-body, set it up like a 1993 M6 f-body.
