Default In use video from Camaro5 event

Here is a video taken from inside our LS9 Camaro SS at the recent Camaro5 Fest in Chandler, AZ:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftcw2...ature=youtu.be

This is all motor (no nitrous).

Attached is a graph showing speed vs time comparing a run with and without full throttle/no clutch shifts. The faster run (in red) was with clutch type shifts and was with two stages of nitrous. The other run (blue) is with full throttle/no clutch shifts and our torque cut module. As you can see the shifts are barely noticeable on the blue run but are readily visible in the change in acceleration on the red run (at roughly 1.6 seconds, 3 seconds and 5 seconds). We had severe traction problems at Camaro5 Fest and never ran a successful full nitrous run so I don't have data yet of the torque cut under full power (1200+ rwhp).

Default Load cell shifter

The load cell shift lever **** will be around $900 from LPE and will be a to order part with a 2 to 4 week lead time. The one in our race car is a bare metal finish but we should be able to get them coated black if people prefer that.

You may also be able to get a load cell or strain gauge and amplifier put on your existing shift lever for around $750 to $900. I am not sure if we will get involved in that ourselves though.

I think you could also build a shift lever with a spring loaded switch (bidirectional) or potentiometer. This type of potentiometer would probably work:

Anything that can supply either a 2.5 volt +/- 2.0 volt signal (+/- directional load) or a simple switched on/off voltage should be able to work with our module.

The torque cut sound less harsh to the driveline than using the clutch.

What about down shifts? I would not want to kill the ign. under downshifts so I can rev match.

The torque cut module would be active only at the track for upshifts not on the street.

You could hook it up to a toggle switch and only use it when needed

Will this add on device work with the GM Performance Parts swap ECU and harness package? It uses the E67 ECU.

Here is another shifter **** option:

I have no clue as to the cost, but it looks nice.

Dumb ? but would the msd 2 step be similar when you press the clutch pedal and shift? Or am I totally wrong?

If you've got it hooked to the clutch pedal switch, then yes it would activate and cut the spark each time you push in the clutch. Some say it makes power shifting a little easier with a syncronized trans, although I don't recommend you do that.

Completly wrong and so is Sweiser. With this setup the ingnition cut unloads the trans and you don't use the clutch at all or lift. Right now with my faceplated t56 I don't use the clutch, but I have to lift when I shift to unload the trany so I can shift. This product will make it where I don't have to lift.

He was referring to the MSD 2 step, not the LPE torque cut module, which is why he said "when I push in the clutch." They both cut spark.

Yea....the major difference here is there will be no need to push the clutch with the LPE ing. cut.

Ok then I was thinkin I was going to try it. The trans needs some work and once its done for Its getting faceplated. Just wanted to know if it was similar. Because I dont recommend the whole wot shift if a syncro trans but I dont care lol. Thread jack over. Once I get a faceplated trans the torque cut looks awesome.

You know, I can't find where it specifically says how it cuts the torque. I just assumed it was by cutting spark.

I have to assume since they specify torque I would have to believe they are killing timing, I could be wrong though.
