Default Brand new Monster clutch burning smell

I had a Monster Level 2 installed over a month ago and have since been breaking it in slowly. I have about 500 miles on the clutch since, mostly heat cycles and stop and go type stuff. I finaly decided to beat on the car the other day....the clutch felt like it grabbed fine (somewhat hard to tell bc it was on the rev limiter from tire spin), but the burning smell that followed was aweful, the worst I've ever smelled. My stock clutch AND Spec unit never even smelled this bad. Any ideas? The smell tells me it slipped some, but it sure felt like it held fine....I'm paranoid!

Perform a clutch test.

- Find VERY level ground
- Clutch in
- Engage 1st
- Rev up to or near Redline
- If car moves AT ALL then you have a problem
- If stays perfectly motionless then you know its not riding anything

That would be the first thing that I would do.

I'm guessing if this was the first time you beat on it, that it finally bed in and heat cycled. You should be good from here on out, feel free to contact me with any questions. Chris, 817-750-2000

Ya this is normal, it will go away. Every monster I have had has done this the first couple hard pulls, nothing to worry about
