T56 Maintenance. first time owning a T56, was wondering what fluid, how much, and if any TSB is out for it.. was also wondering how often you all change the fluid in your T56 as well..

You don't even need to use the search button. Just looking the the threads made in the last few days and you can find all the info you need. Or look in the FAQ section. It does get old seeing the same thing asked 3 times a week though.

Change the oil yearly with 4 qts of Dextron III normal use, more often if abused. Do-not use synthetic trans fluid unless you have changed all the paper syncronizer pads to carbon fiber or they will self-destruct. Also the fork shift pads and shifter fulcrum should be changed over to Bronze from the factory plastic. the extreemly powerful detergents in synthetic tend to degrade the plastic over time.

check the rear seal, I'm pretty sure thats where my leak is coming from. Those can rot out after awhile.

Both are worth checking when you see a leak, but i was referring to the tailshaft seal. I just used a bead of RTV around my shifter, I think that is the preferred method on the forum.
