Default Transmission noob, trans is making me worry

Lately my t-56 has been shifting very rough. For awhile its just been a rough shift. As of last night it was really hard to get into gear. It felt like the synchros werent opening or i was shifting without a clutch. Last night while going from 2nd to 3rd, with the clutch on the floor it grinded 3rd. Also under hard acceleration 1st and 3rd gear rattle like a bag of marbles, and under cruising at about 2000 rpm there is a sound coming from the dash area that shakes my shifter i wouldnt say its a rattle its a little deeper than that.

Like I said Im a trans noob, i do not know where to begin to diagnose these issues. I plan on completely changing the fluid and see if that helps, but any other idea's will help. Ill try to get a video describing the sounds a little better.

Hydraulics need bled first thing. Easy and cheap to do effectively using the jmd method.

A trans. fluid change is a good thing, but seldom the issue.

Visually check the hydraulics for leaks.

Not the exact same symptoms I had but similar. I would be cruising shifting, rowing through the gears and would grind going into 3rd virtually everytime. Yes I had the clutch pedal pushed all the way to the floor with every shift and it still did it. 2000 miles after putting in the Tick Master Cylinder, it has never grinded once on me and I am only pressing the clutch pedal in approx 2" with each shift (That has more to do with how I have the master adjusted).

Contact Tick and see what they have to say, but I am still betting it is a hydralic issue.

This sounds like the exact problem I am having, & its definitely a phantom problem that happens every now & then (more prominent when the car is warmed up/driven for an hour or more)

When you shift into 3rd is it a no kidding grinding of the gears or just a quieter grinding that is audible, but mostly felt in the shifter?

Also does that grinding go away once the car is in gear, or does it continue (with the clutch pedal depressed) even after getting it into third? Does it go away when you release the clutch pedal?

I just installed the Tick Master & it works great, but I will still occasionally get this issue in 3rd gear. The grinding goes away when I release the clutch.

I am starting to suspect that my slave cylinder is the problem, but there are no visible leaks & I am not losing any fluid.

Good Luck, & keep us posted. If I figure mine out I'll let you know what it was.
