Powershifting is keeping your foot planted on the gas and kicking the clutch pedal just enough to get it in the next gear.
Double clutching is used in big rigs or older vehicles with non-synchromesh transmissions.
You push the clutch once to pull it in neutral and again to select the next gear.
Most truckers however never touch the clutch pedal again once they start off, they just know the precise spot to pull it into the next gear without using the clutch pedal.
