T56 will not go into 1st, 3rd, or 5th
Bought a 40k mile t56 to replace mine after it completley blew up. Drove it in a ls1 powered 66 el camino before i bought it. Drove perfectly. Pulled it out and had it installed on my 99 SS and I have no foreward gears. Goes perfectly into 2nd, 4th, and 6th. Any ideas?????

F-body shifter over a GTO offset lever. See the picture of the two levers here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...6-reverse.html
Or, an aftermarket shifter with stops needs the forward stop (which prevents the shifter from going forward) backed off to test it.

Had this same problem with my B&M shifter, scared the **** outta me for a minute...
The little gaskets on the shift plate where the bolts go need to be turned so the holes are closest to the front of the car. At least that was what it was with my shifter.
Hope this helps.

I've seen a lot of times the Shift Stop bolts will come loose and block the shifter from going into the top gears (1,3,5), or sometimes the bottom gears (2,4,6). There is absolutely No point in having shift stop bolts on a T56. It just leaves more room for error. I think it but just be a marketing thing "It has adjustable shift stops!!!" lol pointless
