I can't seem to find a T56 for under $1600. It's one of the last pieces I need for my LS1/240SX swap and it's killing me how expensive they are.

I'm used to the typical $200 for an SR20 tranny in the Nissan world, lol. Of course I'm not gonna find a T56 for under a grand, but how are you guys even finding them for that cheap?

I've been checking car-part.com every day, hitting up all local auto yards and junk yards, constantly checking the F/S section on here, and other forums...ebay...no luck.

There just not cheap. You can get a lt1 t56 and convert it. There was a nice article in the new Gm high tech magazine.

Cores typically bring $400-$600, used pull outs bring $1000-$1200 and rebuilt units fetch between $1800-$2200 if you don't have a core to exchange out.
