Default What gear ratios in turbo application trans

I've got a twin turbo f-body with 3.55 rear gears. I sold the stock T56 and am going with a new trans so there are a few options on gear ratios. I am looking mostly for the 1 gear ratio. Since a stick car is so hard to get into boost for a launch would the 2.98 ratio be better than the 2.66? Its a 26" slick. 98% street car. Anyone with experience?

2.66 ratio would be my choice.

I would go with the 2.66 ratio aswell. With the 2.98 ratio, you wouldn't be in first gear long enough to a reach full boost. Power adder cars like to be lugged abit. With a 2-step and a 2.66 ratio, the car should leave pretty well.

Sounds good. I hadn't thought that it may not be in gear long enough.
