Question Is this a good manual to have to learn how to rebuild a T56?

I was wondering if this is a good manual to get so I can teach myself how to rebuild a T56. The gear box has it for sale.

That's the hard copy version of the free PDF you can download from tremec.com

It's great to have, but some online articles complete the training with tips, techniques, tools, and tons of reference pictures.

Haha, I did the same thing when I knew I would be rebuilding my T56. I looked at a couple for sale on the internet, and stumbled onto the free pdf somehow. I had the same reaction. Glad I didn't waste my money!

GM has a training video out, i got, its pretty sweet, except they do gto or magnum trans, alot more parts to the synchros, and some of the other little parts were different, so i got lost doing my regular t56 a couple times, but its really good for showing the steps and what to do and check.

That is one thing I wish one of the trans guys/shops would make, a video.

Well if they all did that and people started rebuilding them themselves they would lose out on business.

It may inspire, ie; give someone the ***** to do their own rebuild, but I doubt many. It would only go to help the DIY guy more so than the not.

If a guy's going to rebuild his own trans, there's nothing a shop can do about it except sell him parts, fix his **** ups, and make a video and sell it to him - or all 3
