Dumb question, but how can you tell if you have a stock Hurst or not? I guess mine isn't because I see no indication it is.

Look in your rpo codes list for BBS. That is the code if it came with the factory hurst. To see if it has been replaced or not.. look underneath the car on top of the trans and the stock hurst will have a gold colored base about 1/4" thick. A stock non-hurst shifter is a thin piece of stamped steel.

I've heard good and bad about MGW... never hear bad about HURST. go HURST with ShortStick and dnt look back

So this shifter here is basically a stock Hurst shifter? I currently own a 2001 ws6 with a stock shifter. How much of an upgrade would this be? Is it a shorter throw and stick?

^^^ check the RPO codes on your car. U may have a Hurst Short throw shifter already. Dnt buy off eBay. Buy a shifter from one of our sponsors if your going to buy a shifter.... I suggest WS6Store...
