t-56 2nd gear synchro
Hey guys, I finally put the plates on the new ride today (2002 Z28 LS1 w/T-56) and think I already broke her...haha. Burn out from 1st and slammed into 2nd and it wouldnt go into gear drive down the road and go through all the gears and she grinds up shifting into 2nd and also down shifting into 2nd...going to pull the trans when I get some free time and possibly attempt the repair myself...Im thinking it is the synchro but im wondering if you guys have noticed any of the same problems and they turned out to be other things>? thanks for the help in advance

Faceplating is only the best mod EVER for the T56. I just did it to my STREET DRIVIN camaro. I had 1-4th faceplated, basically the synchros get deleted so downshifts are tough, but upshifting is beautiful, never miss a shift and shift as fast as you possibly can. My gas pedal never leaves the floorboard.
IMO, if you enjoy beating on your car, its a no brainer. One missed shift can reap havoc on your synchros, with faceplate you never have to worry about that.
