Shifter moved drastically
I have a b&m shifter in my camaro and I just kind of noticed that it seems to be too far up and to the right? Any idea what would cause this? Basically when i go to revers i'm touching the center plastic part around it? And when i'm in first my hand can touch the ***** to the A/C. overall everything seems really tight.

was it in the same position when you initially installed it or did it move over time? if its been that way did you install it the correct direction? if it just happened then due to heat and cool off the 4 bolts you use to put it in will loosen and may move if the shifter base holes are big enough for adjustments. My fidanza's base holes were barely big enough to put the bolts through so i have no adjustability at all at the base. The only other thing i can think of is mounts that your tranny sits on but doubt it, atleast in my experience never heard that happen, but it could be possible if your mounts are worn and something wrong it will cause it to move, other will probably be able to give better advice.

I never really paid any attention until I drove a friends camaro and I was like wtf this is way different than mine. I'll double check a few things this weekend and see if anything looks bent or loose. Thanks for your reply!

You probably have a broken motor mount. My friend couldnt even get into reverse after he installed a new shifter because the motor mount on the passengers side was cracked
