What slave should I buy?
I installed a Tick master cylinder because my clutch wouldn't disengage and I hoped it was the master, looks like it wasn't. With a quick search of the board I found that Tick recommends the GM slave cylinder. I looked on Tick's site and they want $160 for it while Monster wants $89. What is the difference? Should I consider a different one? Advanced Auto is offering 20% off of online purchases right now, should I just buy one from them? Is another cylinder better?
I plan on installing a speed bleeder at the same time. Again Tick sells theirs for $50 while Monster sells theirs for $30. What is the difference? Issues with leaks or difficulty bleeding? Should I consider a different one?

Sorry, not trying to hijack but had the exact same problem and the tick master didn't solve it for me either. So I would like to know the answer to these questions as well. Also are you sure it's the slave. I haven't pulled my clutch yet and I'm hoping it's the slave and not the clutch

ya man save yourself some coin and go down to autozone and pick up one of their duralast ones, its the same slave as the gm one that sells for 160 it even has "made in mexico" on it and has the AP company casting mark in it....

Any reliability issues with the duralast unit from autozone? In the pass I have had issues with reman'ed parts. An alternator isn't a big deal to swap out, a slave cyl is another story.

There is nothing wrong with the GM slave. It tends to wear out after roughly 100k miles. It should completely solve your problem. If you have difficultly shift from a stop into 1st or reverse, its most likely the slave. When my slave was shot I had to try 3 or 4 times to get it in first. Really sucked when I wasn't paying attention to traffic lights. I don't think I've ever been honked at that much in my entire life. Good news is, the honking bastards got a whiff of a ls1 with no cats. Tasty.
