Default Triple Cone Synchros in F-body MM6?

The GTO T56 came with triple cone syncros, however the F-body T56 (MM6) stopped production (F-body production ended) before GM went to triple cone.
  1. Is there a way to get triple cone syncros into a F-body T56?
  2. Can I buy new "replacement" gears/syncros to convert to triple cone?
  3. I read something somewhere about the later C5 T56 had triple cone syncros and the "guts" could be transplanted into the F-body case. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Chris

You would need the 1-4 gears from a C5 non Z06 transmission and a GTO main shaft to make it work.

I'm not even sure whats in mine but it has C6Z06 triple cone internals I believe. Also G-force 9310 mainshaft and a bunch of other billet stuff. Its called the Super T56 from RPM Transmissions.

Why would I need the GTO main shaft?

If I need the GTO main shaft, then I could just get a GTO T56, a parts C5 transmission, and combine parts that way then.

The GTO main shaft allows for the use of the syncro package you are inquiring about.

So then I just find a GTO T56 and swap the Vette gears into it. What year Vette trans do I need to get the triple cone syncros?

the gto unit uses triple cone synchros just like vettes do iirc so why not just get a t56 from a gto. it would be cheaper than swapping all those parts out in yours and you could sell yours to recoup most of the cash

I don't want the GTO gear ratios.

Additionally, I understood that the GTO trans only has tripple cone on 1&2. All others being dual cone. I'd rather have tripple on all gears.

GTO/Vette/CTS-V/SSR all have the same exact syncro package.

Really? I thought I read about people putting triples on gears 3&4 as well.

Oh well, minimum I don't want the GTO gearing.
