Default bell housing dowel pins

Can you pull out the dowel pins on the back of the block or hammer them out?

Those bell housing dowel pins definitely come out. The easiest way I have found to get them out of the block it to use a long punch and hammer them out towards the back of the block.

Were you able to remove them? We have heard of people doing this, and if I remember correctly one guy even cracked the block.

A pair of pliers walks them out with ease for future reference.

Some spray lube and a pair of vice grips usually works.

If hammering them out doesn't work I would either spray them down with some sort of lubricant and try to work it out slowly or use a small propane torch and heat up area around the dowel pin and it should be a bit easier to get out.

I am not too sure what you mean that the block is already busted? But if the block is already a boat anchor just cut a slot in the block with a die grinder and they will fall out, if you don't want to that, it's time for a bigger hammer.

If you just need a couple dowel pins, go to Autozone. They carry Moroso pins for about $10.
