Default Can you use a LS1 clutch in a LT1? Differences?

My current 30th anniversary 97 is my first 6 speed f body, and i didnt know there were any differences between lt1 and ls1 t56/clutches... Wikipedia gives them a different tag ID, but every spec, ratio, rating is all the same..

My buddy has a brand new Spec stage 3+ clutch and flywheel that would rock if i could grab for my 97 z28, could someone explain to me the overall differences and if its possible to run a "ls1" style clutch?

BTW my car has a brand new clutch installed by the previous owner, the car was 100% bone stock before i bought it and it feels like a OE designed clutch. Ive done every bolt on in the book + 410s & while this clutch is doing great this spec 3+ is a steal but would it be a good clutch for my mods or too much? I do daily drive it in good weather but push it hard almost every time i go out, mostly in a straight line, no dumb **** lol.

They have a different operating mechanism. They are not directly interchangeable.

LS1 = traditional push style release
LT1 = Pull style release

Totally different design, not possible!
