Default T-56 Crossmember

Two questions....

Does anyone make a aftermarket crossmember for the stock trans? My Kooks TD's keeps hitting the edge on the drivers side back corner. I'm not sure if I want to just cut a small piece off or possibly replace it if I can get a little more clearance with an aftermarket one.

Also, do I need to support the transmission when removing the crossmember? This may be a dumb question but oh well.

Yeah, I shot them an E-mail. It might fit but I just glazed over it since it was a different trans.

We can make you one for the same price of out others, $169.99.

It should offer more room than your stock item but couldn't guarantee it would cure your issue. Although I assume it would.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

^^ If I'm going to replace it would it make more sense to just get the stock torque arm off the trans with relocation crossmember? Do you make one for the stock t-56?

It would make a lot more sense, yes. This way you would actually benefit from installing it rather than just exhaust clearance.

We do make the relocation kit for a T56, here is the link- www.umiperformance.com/2207

If you use the stock torque arm you will need #3004 bushing as well for the stock arm, see the bottom of the ad.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thanks!

Ryan....I'm considering just getting a whole new torque arm with the bracket and doing it right. I'd probably prefer the long arm.

- Will that clear Kooks TD's?
- Do you recommend adjustable or fixed? I have most suspension upgrades and am lowered 1.25".
- May be getting a MWC 9" in a year or so, will your TA bolt up?

Thanks again!

I would definitely recommend the adjustable torque arm. It offers the best clearance and allows changes since you are lowered. Part # 2205 is the one to look at, it also works well with that relocation kit above.

You should have no trouble with the Kook TD's... especially if it is clearing good with the stock torque arm. Our #2205 offers a little more room than the stock arm.

I don't know if our arm will bolt to a MWC. It will however bolt to all Stange and Moser rear ends, 12-bolt, 9" and S60.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thanks!
Ryan
