Default Please Help Me. Is This To Expensive

Ok so my slave is leaking and it needs to be replaced. So i took it to a trusted shop. And they quoted me $1600 for a new oem hydrolics and clutch kit. The price includes labor. Does this seem high. And they dont want to install a stronger performance disk. I just need some advice and i need some soon. Thanks everyone.

Clutch kit shouldnt be more then $5-600 and labor at maybe 4 hours. So I would say 1200 is the most I would pay for a clutch swap...that is of course if youre not trying to put a twin disc ram hd clutch in it lol

Basically they are replacing the slave and clutch and fly wheel for that price. They want to put in a oem clutch kit and they are basically refusing to put in a after market clutch which is odd. So what is a good street strip clutch kit that will hold about 500 horse. I want to be making around 450hp with this car. What clutch kit would u recomend.

A clutch swap is easy technically but hard physically if you are solo and/or don't have a lift or trans jack. I did it solo with a reg jack for the trans with the car on stands and ramps.

There are tutorials on here about how to pull the trans and install the clutch.

$1600 is definitely steep for a clutch swap. I'd say $1200-1400 max.

I run a McLeod RST twin disk and love it. Feels totally like stock but grabs hard, and holds some pretty high power. Mine was $450 installed

Any one know where i can find one of these tutorials that might have pictures. I plan on using a transmission jack. Also after i complete the clutch swap can i replace the trans fluid before i reinstall the transmission? Also how does the slave cylinder work as far as replacing it? Like is it bolt out bolt back in the new one?
