Hello! did you use hydraulic clutch release system? what parts you used? I have same kind of project 5.3 and T5 and i have all the parts except i dont know how i'm going to release clutch.
when I did mine I used a ram hd hydraulic throwout bearing for a t5.
I have been looking for information on LS with T5 swap but found lots of speculation and no one actually did the swap. Maybe I missed it. I came across this swap at the link below. It’s a 1990 RX-7 with 5.3 & T5.
Not sure if this was ever posted here but looks like great info. Below are some pics and there are more at the link below.
2005 5.3 Vortec out of a GMC Savavna van with almost 0 miles on it but no harness or PCM
2001 Z06 stock camshaft
F body intake, fuel rails and injectors
F body balancer, oil pan and water pump
1989 WC T5 from a Camaro
early Chevy big block aluminum bellhousing casting # 3899621
Ls1 flywheel and clutch
8.8 IRS differential from a 96 Lincoln Mark VIII w/3.07 and 3.55 gears
super coupe half shafts
86 Vette radiator
Volvo s60 Fan
LS7 Pilot bearing GM part #12557583
VSS rotor ring was from a 700r4
VSS sensor from GM truck transfer cases from 1989 onward
Waid
how did you set up the slave cylinder to the 621 belhousing?
I am planning to use the LS7 Pilot bearing GM part #12557583 mentioned above. Since this sits in the outer portion of the crank do I need to remove the original ls1 needle pilot bearing that sits on the inner portion of the crank can I just leave it?
Below is a picture. The original bearing is in position A and the new one goes in position b so thinking it wont hurt to leave the original and put in the new?

Thanks bearing in spot 'A' is out. If you get this tool from Autozone (loaner tool) 27128 it took all of 2 minutes to setup and 20 seconds on the slide hammer to pull out the bearing. Pics of the tool below. The slide hammer isn't shown but threads right into the puller piece which is in the pics.
I have a lq9 6.0 out of a truck that I am thinking about putting a t5 behind, however I have a different t5 than most I would say I have the t5 that came out of a 1993 Camaro (borg Werner) it has the ford style face, so I have to adapt it to the bellhousing using a ford to gm t5 adapter. My main concern is the (input/pilot) shaft that comes in those T5’s. would it work with the clutch and the engine itself, if I used a Ls7 bearing, or do I need to get a different shaft
please help I am struggling
