Default Monster stage 1 or Ls7 clutch?

Okay so I currently have a new clutch. The bad is that its a stock replacement clutch and I dont think it will last long. My setup is in the sig. I am looking for a clutch that drives / rides like stock. I am planning on adding a set of Tsp prc 2.5 5.3 heads with 42lb injectors. So I need a clutch that can handle around 400rwh. Any input would be appreciated.

Out of the two the monster is much better, and if you have a little more to spend a lvl 2 would be perfect. I had a lot of issues with my old ls7 unit, then switched over to the monster lvl 1. Excellent stock like drivability and is supposed to hold the same, if not, more torque than the ls7.

I'm in the same boat you are. I'm bolt on's now, but will eventually be putting PRC heads and a mild cam in my car (around 400rwhp). I'm going with the stage 1 Monster clutch. Drives like stock, rated to 450rwhp, and is only $530 shipped from the WS6store.com. It will be more than enough for my needs. I only go to the track maybe once a year at most. If I had a wilder head and cam package and hit the track more often but still wanted a stock like clutch feel I'd get a stage 2.

I got it on a seasonal sale a little over a year ago from tick performance, it was $530 altogether. I installed the kit in my driveway so I saved a good bit on whatever labor may be lol.

I put the last clutch in my car and I dont want to do that job again. I'll prob have it dynoed again anyway to see if it makes better power with the stronger clutch.

Monster says to stay outside of 50rwhp from the actual rating. I'd go stage 2 and never look back. It's smoother than the stocker I had.

I just switched from an aftermarket clutch to a LS7. The LS7 has a much lighter pedal, no chatter and smooth engagement with less drive line lash. It feels like a stock clutch because it is a stock clutch. My car is a DD and the LS7 clutch is much better in traffic/parking lots.

Count a 3rd one for the stage 2. With my TSP H/C setup I ended up making the power in my sig, and will probably make closer to 495whp this summer on that clutch, and it drives like stock!

I have the lightweight flywheel and stage 2 monster....drives great. It's a little stiffer than stock especially when you first start to drive it on a cold morning.

I have the Monster lvl two. Takes a little to get use to. It grabs and I kill the car every now and then. Wait until they go on sale. You can get the level 2 for basically what the level 1 cost.
