I need to know what to do with the speedo and the reverse lock out, to make them work. I am going to be using a autometer electric speedo.

Well as far as the speedo goes there's many companies like Dakota that make conversion boxes to convert it to a different electric signal or mechanical. I also assume you are using an ls1 PCM? If so all you need for the reverse lock out to work is hook the hot side of the solenoid to a keyed 12v source and then find the pin on the PCM for reverse lock out. When the PCM sense the car under 3mph then it will ground the circuit and allow the lockout to open. I would think this would still work even with your different speedo because the PCM read the vss which shouldn't change as the converter box feeds off that

Do the same thing as I said but ground the solenoid constantly and then rig the 12v source either to a switch or the brake pedal

I would NOT suggest you wire through the brake switch for the reverse solenoid. Several reasons: one is it could over-power the brake light circuit and blow the fuse for that segment. This could go out and you might not notice it.....operating without brake or tail lights...you cam maybe see a safety concern; the other is there are situations, however remote, that you would be braking with a excessine forward speed, and NOT want to get into the reverse gate. I suggest a momentary button/ switch wired to 12V/ solenoid grounded as above that the driver operates when he wants reverse.

a lot of people wire it into the brake pedal and never have an issue seeing as the solenoid doesnt take much juice to operate. however i would agree a switch would be better so it doesnt hang open everytime you push the brake
