Default what to do with the transmission

I have a 99 Camaro SS and I having a 408 built for it that should have about 525 RWHP and I am curious what I should be doing for the transmission. the car will mostly just be a weekend car but it will see about 10 passes at the 1/4 track a year and few laps around a few autox courses... opinions are welcome. thanks

What's wrong with your current trans, and what would you be looking for in any upgrade ?

will a stock T56 hold that much power? I just don't want to worry about the tranny once the motor is built. What are most guys with 500RWHP doing? just a better clutch and that's it?? any help is greatly appreciated

People have run a lot more than that through a T56. 500 shouldnt pose any issues.

People do break things on occasion. But with the T56, it's rarely too much power that actually breaks them.

I wouldnt do anything now. There really isnt a weak point in the t56 gear set as far as hp goes. As long as its a 2000 or newer it gets the viper 2nd gear which even if it doesnt have its not a huge deal. When its time for a rebuild billet keys and a fork pad upgrade with a steel 3-4 fork will handle that hp fine.

Agreed^ It wont have any issues holding that power. Just get a good clutch!
