Centering springs, length of throws, my MGW isn't notchy like the 5.0 is. The stick it comes with feels solid as well and easy to adjust length, it's also not as loud as my 5.0, but to be fair I messed with the dust boot cover to fit over it better.

quality kind of sucks since it had to be able to be sent via text. You get the idea though. I can take a new one at full resolution if someone really wants me to.

I cant speak for the Pro 5.0 in a F Body but Ive had them in my various Mustangs. I currently have a MGW in my F Body. What I can say is the MGW is alot better for street driving and to me is a firmer/shorter version of OEM. Now the Pro 5.0's Ive had are very notchy but what I do like about the Pro 5.0 is they have adjustable stops for the throw. I have over extended a Mustang shift into 3rd gear and broke a fork so Pro 5.0 is good for track/hard shifting. Both have very good self centering to help with the 3rd gear shift. Given my application and use I prefer the MGW. In my opinion anyone who is serious about straight line performance should look into a Powerglide but thats a whole other topic and do not want to derail the thread. Long story short....MGW street/track, Pro 5.0 track/street in that order.

ok MGW Guys how high is it from the edge of the console to the top of the shift **** with the factory MGW stick. i hate short sticks they are hard for me to grab and they are a smaller target to grab when you are racing. all the racecars i have been in have long shift handles and i love them

You forgot to make the engine sounds!

Seriously though you guys have convinced me the MGW is the way to go! I dont like the factory Hurst **** though and I ordered a Hurst Classic round **** for my stock shifter but it feels like its the size of a 8-ball! I prefer the smaller **** like the old Hurst 4-speeds came with.
So gonna have to order the MGW in 12mm and look for a smaller ****.
Great input guys!

Ive had the factory hurst shifter in my 2000 NHRA Formula, loved it. Bought the 98 WS6 TA and it had some weird *** aftermarket hurst shifter with a t handle, 10 times worse than the hurst in the formula. Bought the MGW with the stock shift ****, NEVER LOOKED BACK.

The centering springs in the MGW make it literally a push upward from 2nd gear and youre in 3rd, same downshifting from 5th to 4th. Im telling you, drop the 300 bucks or so and its probably one of the most effective simple mods you can do to an M6 car. The only thing I would do to my shifter set up is buy a leather wrapped shift **** and BOOM, heaven. Shifting gears with the MGW is literally a push of the wrist, its a nice short throw. before break in it seems a bit tight and perhaps notchy, but after about a 100 miles it gets looser and pretty much makes a world of difference.

MGW FTW!!!

on a side note, the stock plastic shift **** is pretty nice. I like it because you can hold it up top like a ball or underneath like a pistol grip. it doesnt get extremely hot nor does your hand slip off. theyre super cheap, got mine and a brand new shift boot for 20 bucks I do believe. so if you have a shitty shift **** you dont like and cant find the one youre looking for at a decent price, go stock. it works great and VERY affordable.

I can take some measurements tonight for you. I made my own shift **** so I'll just take that off and measure to the top of the stick. It is fairly short height wise in comparison to the stock one.

Had the Hurst, never had the Pro 5.0, got the MGW & love it. Hurst had their chance first time around, they stuffed up, bugger buying their second attempt.

Never had the latter two but my MGW has been great. It's everything you could want All in one, the extra $ was well worth it being fully adjustable and the difference from stock was huge.
