If Martin says you have enough RPM to get through the traps, DEFINITELY go with 4.56 gear with 28" tire. If you are concern about ET anyways
As far as your questions about shocks I would call insane chassisworks at 409 225 5744

Best of luck with your man pedal endeavors,

Parker

4.56 with a 28" tire would be basically the same trap rpm as the 4.11 and 26" tire. i have room to grow, i'm thinking of doing 4.30's with the 26" tire, as that would be similar to a 4.88 with the 28" tire.

as the UMTR guys say, "don't fear the gear" lol

double overdrive means i can still cruise 70 on the highway i love the t56

I have 4.56 gears and with a 28 inch tire and can cruise at 70 at about 2200 rpm it's awesome. I don't fear the gear. But 4.30 on a 26 would work ok. Just shift alot lol.

if your bouncing the tire when you go frame by frame you need a little more compression in the rear shocks.

What is your pinion angle? is that tq arm still mounted to the trans?

lca relocation brackets?

4.30 gear should work well with the 26. 28 is easier but not necessary. ive been mid 1.3s with a 26x8.5 tire

this is the arm i'm using

http://www.jegs.com/i/Jegster/550/40095/10002/-1

as you can see, i have no pinion angle adjustment

i have lca relocation brackets, currently in the middle hole. the bottom hole had it REALLY bouncing the tires....hit the tire HARD that way.

id check to see what your pinion angle is. i like the lca in the lowest hole and use the shocks to control the bounce of the tire

i'll experiment with some clutch slipping i suppose....

seriously thinking about the 4.56's i have in the bin at home....
My understanding stiff sidewall slick shouldn't be chosen because a car is heavy, but that it can be ultimately faster with a properly dialed in suspension still allowing it which is even more critical with a 6-speed car. Ray would definitely be the guy to listen to on F-body suspension, so I'll let him take over...
