fast t56 guys, please critic my launch
hey guys, just trying to get a handle on this six speed thing. so far best sixty is a 1.54 and i've been 10.91 @ 126.7. the car is a bit heavy, i know, at nearly 3500lbs. i'm running a 26x10.0S (3053S) per M/T's advice. the car has a 4.11 gear in it (i'm thinking of switching it to a set of 4.30s i have in the parts bin). launch speed is 5500 rpm in the first pass (which it bogged on) and 5900 rpm on the second two passes. tire pressure is at 13.75psi. i currently am running a monster stage 3 ceramic clutch.
does anyone have any suggestions? i feel like this thing has 1.4x sixties in it if i can get a handle on it.

also, front suspension is moroso trick springs, lakewood 90/10's, and the rear is stock v6 springs, jegster non adjustable torque arm, rod ended lca's in the middle hole, and a 12 year old set of cheapy competition eng. 3 way adjustables.

wanna stay with the smaller tire if i can. i got two sets of these tires brand new (i know i can unload them for enough to buy some 28's). i know a ton of people making that 26x8.5 tire work, and want to figure out the little tire.
might be time for some double adjustables out back and some coilovers up front. i'm fairly certain the front of the car is too low.

Not bad at all, curious why M/T recommend the stiff sidewall slick? I think it'd help with a softer sidewall to absorb some of the shock from dumping the clutch. I'm coming from cutting a 1.4 in an IRS car so you can't just pop the clutch, you want a small amount of spin and clutch slip to keep from bogging once it hooks. Gears and more rollout help as well. You can play with length of burnout, psi, and launch rpm to see what the suspension may like, just make sure you make one change at a time Also might try launching slightly lower, but accelerating into the clutch release. the car is semi heavy, which is why they suggested the stiff sidewall tire. it's nearly 3500lbs at the moment. i'm glad i've got a stiff sidewall tire on it cause i'm still wrapping it up pretty good.
i'll experiment with some clutch slipping i suppose....
seriously thinking about the 4.56's i have in the bin at home....

What rpm are you crossing the line at? If your already close to
Your rev limit going through the traps, you will prob need the
28" tire with the 4:56.
With a 26 1/2" tire I was hitting the limiter in 4th a couple hundred
Feet before the quarter. With 4:56 gears.
So I'm running a 28" tire now. But more gear and more tire will
Be a win win situation!

6600 rpm through the traps. we think it'll go to 72-7400. Martin has been helping me with cam selection and rpm operating range.
i'm set on making the tiny tire work, willing to buy new shocks if need be. (sorry, i know i'm stubborn).
i'd like to drop a couple hundred pounds off the car too, just not sure where to pull from yet, or how much money i want to dump on weight dropping.

i will do. this is the current ride height...i feel like it needs to go higher in the front maybe? maybe lower in the rear? maybe a slight combo of both?
have you heard of these guys? www.vi-king.com supposedly a couple guys left qa1 and started this company. the pricing is really nice on a set of rear double adjustable shocks for the 82-02 platform.
