ARP flywheel bolts a good idea?
This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask. Right now I've got my transmission out replacing the clutch with a 11" monster ceramic. I leave with this thing at 6500 rpm, cuts 1.51s on a 27" QTP. I've been running the stock flywheel/pressure plate bolts fine but I'm starting to wonder if possibly going ARP would be a good decision. I'd just hate to sheer bolts at almost 7k and something come through the floor and while its out it wouldn't be hard to stick them in there but since I all ready have the clutch if its not a problem I'm going to put the car back together. What do you think?

Cant tell you from T56 experience but I did it with my 2JZ build up and why not, they arent that expensive anyway. A cheap way to have a peace of mind in my opinion. Which Stage/Level Monster did you go with btw?

I wouldn't mind putting them in it I just hate to wait for them to come in. It wasn't listed as a stage. It was the 11" Monster Ceramic Race clutch. Its suppose to be good to 850rwhp. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...y-850rwhp-tq-/

We've had stock GM bolts hold 1100rwtq with that clutch no problems, I've cut a 1.49 60' on them in my personal car.I believe 99bluefbody used stock GM flywheel bolts when he went 9.3s and cut 1.3s with that clutch, but if you decide to go ARP be sure and loctite them. Thanks again for choosing a Monster!

Launching!
its cheap insurance...one less thing you need to worry about.
little bit of patience now is cheaper than an input shaft, clutch assembly, bell housing, God knows what else later...
but you already know this...or you would have never asked the question in the first place.

The GM bolts are designed to stretch. TTY. When I pulled the old ones out they looked great aside from the stretching they did and were suppose to do. ARP is a great product I just don't want to use any oil products on the clutch side of the flywheel.
Granted I don't have 1000hp.

BTW OP, I have a set for sale.

^^^exactly. I did this with my 4-cylinder build and then wiped the excess lube off using brake cleaner to make sure everything was off. I was under the impression that OEM was not TTY which would mean they are capable (in theory) of being reused. ARP are TTY which would mean that they are NOT recommended for re-use as torquing them down to spec would change the physical dimensions/elasticity of the bolt itself....again in theory.
