Default Spec 3I?

I just got back from the track and had some major problems with my clutch. I've got a Spec 3 X-pad (new last fall) which isn't holding the shift to 4th (sometimes even 3rd) now that I've added some nitrous. It does fine on a 5500 RPM good hooking launch the problem is at the end of the track.

I'm thinking about switching to a Spec 3I or a Spec 4. I would like to keep the drivability of the stage 3 clutch but I don't want to spend money on a clutch that won't do the job. The stage 3 x-pad was rated for 680rwhp and I'm not putting down anywhere near that much power so I'm a little skeptical of mfg's claims. Does anyone have any experience with the Spec 3I or some advise on which way to go?

Thanks, Ken
BTW, I did get a new best today (11.21@112...coasting from the 1000' mark).

Thanks, that's probably what I'm going to get. I just want to make sure people are happy with their's. BTW, how's the drivability? The only reason for me not to go with a stronger clutch would be better drivabilty with the stage 3I.

Have you flushed the clutch fluid? after time it can get black and break down, after a hard shift it can get air in it and start to slip.

The hydraulics are holding up well and were checked recently. Pedal pressure is good and the trans. shifts into gear fine. I'll check again, though. Thanks.

What do you mean by not holding the shift? Slipping clutch in 3rd or 4th?

If the clutch is slipping, GET OUT OF IT. Seriously. You run a risk of overheating and burning up the clutch - and the next step past overheating is a clutch explosion. If it's fine at first, and then slips on the big end, that does sound like an overheating issue.

I can't comment about the Specs, I know my Ram VDS/910 works very well tho.

Thanks, I'll talk to the guys at the shop about the overheating possibility.
