Default LT1 to LS1 T56 strength and cost questions

I need a T56 with an LS input shaft for a car I'm putting together. I've found LT T56 transmissions for sale, but not a ton of LS T56s. So, two questions:

1) Is the LS T56 version any stronger than an LT T56 version with the LS input shaft?

2) What's the cost to have someone change the input shafts (or is it pretty easy to do)?

Thanks!

They are basically the same strength.
You need an LS1 input shaft, front bearing plate, and bellhousing.
$600 in parts

Unless you got the LT1 trans for a smokin price... just buy an LS1 transmission from the beginning.
Avoid the '93 version as you can't swap in the LS1 style input shaft due to different gearing.

Is there a Julian date on the T56 to identify which year and thus compatibility might be an issue?
Also I am a good parts scrounger and have not seen an LS T56 for under $2K, or I would have bought one by now, found two LT's for $600. Worth changing over?

Default LT to LS T56

Are these LS t56 take outs or inspected or partially refurbished? I purchased a LT T56, however for the $ am I best off doing the LS change over or just buying a take out with engine for all the other required items.

If you're simply not finding the LS version, maybe. Any LT1 has one of the early design 2nd gears. The 98-02 LS input shaft was backordered last I checked. So it depends on whether you're going through it anyway and if you can get the parts.
